Prepare your visit

Here are some practical tips and details that may be helpful when preparing your visit to Shakespeare and Company.

Access

The majority of the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. As are the Antiquarian bookshop and Café. If you require additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff.

Groups and Large Bags

Unfortunately we are unable to admit large groups (such as tour groups and school classes), or visitors with either luggage or large backpacks.

No Photos

In order to maintain a pleasant environment for our readers and browsers, we ask that visitors do not take photos or film inside the bookshop.

Queue

The bookshop is situated in a small 17th-century building. In order to make your visit comfortable, we limit the number of people in the store at any one time. During busy periods, there is sometimes a queue to enter, but it generally moves quickly.

General Opening Hours

Open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 8pm / Sunday from 12 midday to 7pm

The bookshop will have the same opening hours during Easter.
