Madeleine Gray's first novel was a real surprise, even though the subject is fairly widespread. Hera is in her mid-twenties which seems young to everyone except people in their mid-twenties. Like most of us she is trying to find a purpose in life but everything changes when she meets Arthur, a colleague in his forties. Hera's character touches our hearts with her transparency, her outspokenness and her need to be loved. I laughed, cried and felt what we can all experience in that special time of life : the twenties. I couldnt look away! A similar feeling to the Fleabag experience!
