Wednesday 25th December : Closed
From Thursday 19th December to Saturday 4th January : Open late until 9pm on Thursday, Friday, Saturday
Access
The majority of the ground floor is wheelchair accessible. As are the Antiquarian bookshop and Café. If you require additional assistance, please don’t hesitate to speak to a member of staff.
Groups and Large Bags
Due to the nature of the old building in which the shop is housed, we are unable to admit large groups (such as tour groups or school classes).
For the comfort and safety of everyone inside our historic building, visitors can not enter the bookshop with large personal items or luggage. Suitcases with wheels, hiking backpacks, sports bags or equipment, bicycles and scooters, and musical instrument cases are not permitted inside the shop: all items with one dimension larger than 40cm will generally not be admitted. You may enter the bookshop with handbags, small backpacks and shopping bags, however these items must be kept with you at all times. Unattended or abandonned items are a security risk and may result in us having to evacuate and close the bookshop.
We do not have any storage facilities for items that are too large to bring into the bookshop, however there are a number of luggage storage options in the neighbourhood
No Photos
In order to maintain a pleasant environment for our readers and browsers, we ask that visitors do not take photos or film inside the bookshop.
Queue
The bookshop is situated in a small 17th-century building. In order to make your visit comfortable, we limit the number of people in the store at any one time. During busy periods, there is sometimes a queue to enter, but it generally moves quickly.
